The Worth of Water
A city of great strength, this place is not as friendly as the Ivory city or Terro, where people are welcomed with open arms. In this place, only strength is valued, and order rules. The strong rule the weak and the weak are killed for their lack of strength, the navy here is the most powerful in the world but they dare not attack anyone, for fear of the mages.
Once, the power if this city allowed it to dominate anyone it encountered, but they met their match when they encountered the mages of the Ivory towers. They assaulted the towers with over 100 battleships, but their ordinary weapons could not penetrate the shields projected agains the towers. The magic projectiles however, were very effective, sometimes destroying two or three ships at a time.
After a long and very one-sided war, the Ivory tower mages and the navy of Isolar signed a long overdue peace treaty. The mages would allow the kingdom of Isolar to stand as long as they ended their warmongering ways. To this day the city has kept it’s end of the bargain, going to war only once after it was attacked and the Ivory city permitted it. People may argue that the kingdom itself is weak, but those people often die, slowly and painfully.
